Andrea Nevill is a proud Bardi/Jawi woman born in Broome, Western Australia.
She grew up on traditional Aboriginal land in the Bardi/Jawi aboriginal community in Cape Leveque in Western Australia.
Andrea studied Aboriginal Cultural studies under Sally Morgan (Indigenous author of ‘My Place’, dramatist and artist) at the University of Western Australia.
In 2016, Andrea got the opportunity to talk on Koori Radio about the topic of human rights and then later got another opportunity to train as a Radio Broadcaster, which lead to starting her radio program “Deadly Human Rights”.
Andrea Nevill is the producer and presenter of the ‘Deadly Human Rights’ program on Koori Radio 93.7fm, broadcasting from Redfern in Sydney, New South Wales.
Andrea is known as DJ Bardi Girl and continues to talk about human rights issues weekly and welcomes various guests onto her show who also talk about various human rights topics.
Andrea was on the board at Gadigal Information Service for 2 years and is currently on the board for Citizens Commission on Human Rights in Australia and Australian South East Asian Network Ltd.
