My journey with ASEAN began in 2021 during my first year of university. I vividly recall attending my first meeting at the Lao Community, witnessing a bold vision laid out by the Founder alongside a circle of Lao, Cambodian, and community leaders.
At the time, I couldn't have imagined the exponential trajectory ASEAN would take, nor the pivotal role I would play in its growth. Reflecting the resilience of my Cambodian refugee heritage, I find a natural alignment between my personal convictions and the core values upheld by the Network’s values.
My service has taken me from community halls to the halls of power, including:
▪︎ Parliamentary Involvement: Participating in Q&A sessions and high-level roundtable meetings with elected officials.
▪︎ Strategic Leadership: Contributing to board meetings and policy discussions to advance the interests of our diverse community.
▪︎ Federal Collaboration: Representing youth interests at a Department of Home Affairs Roundtable, fostering solidarity and mutual respect alongside:
▪︎ African,
▪︎ Lao and Burmese youth advocates
