TAP - Team ASEAN Performers

TAP – Team ASEAN Performers is a signature initiative of ASEAN Ltd, enshrined in the Constitution to showcase a unique cross-cultural collaboration. This program represents a groundbreaking approach never before attempted by a multicultural organization as a core value or performance model. By integrating the distinct skills and iconic movements of local artists from diverse performers into a unified joint choreography, TAP empowers performers to serve as primary advocates for Australian values.
In a landmark achievement for 2026, artists from the Cambodian, Laotian, Khmer Krom, Myanmar, Indonesian, Indian, and Filipino communities united to perform a joint choreography at State and Federal Parliament Houses. This performance served as a powerful demonstration of cultural synergy, bringing the spirit of the Network directly to the heart of what is supposed to be "Australian multiculturalism".
Statement from Major Walter Robinson OAM (Retd):
During my life I have witnessed outstanding commitments and achievements for Human Rights Issues from great AUSTRALIANS – Australians , like our former Prime Minister The Honorable Gough Whitlam AC, QC and The Honorable Justice Michael Kirby AC CMC . Their achievements are an inspiration for our own ASEAN NETWORK.
But a special entertainment was by artists, performed for us in their different traditional styles from 5 different backgrounds under a piece of Cambodian Music. This is truly a remarkable collaboration, in a world where we often have difficulty understanding each other, and today we witnessed ASEAN ARTISTS collaborating and showing us the language of social cohesion through performing arts.
As an Honorary recipient of the ASEAN Founders Medal, I must say thank you to all the new Ambassadors for taking the pledge to promote Australian Values.
